LAURA JANE SCOTT
Laura primarily produces wall art that falls between sculpture and painting. The clean cut wooden forms are painted in vibrant colour and assembled in groups sitting proud of the wall casting a slight shadow. The elegant simplicity of her work belies the systematic rigour behind it. She draws on principles from minimalist architecture, hard edge abstraction and conceptual art and explores the theory of 'ideas from limitations'. Starting with one geometric form she tests all possible arrangements through rotations, layering and the balance of colour. Laura also produces two-colour limited edition screenprints.
Trained in graphic design at Ravensbourne College
