Joe Berger has been producing commercial, editorial and book illustration since the early 1990s, and since 2001 has been co-creator of a weekly cartoon in the Guardian with Pascal Wyse. During this time he has written and drawn four children's books, illustrated over 30 titles by other authors and produced numerous solo prints and cartoons.

All Joe's work starts with scanned drawing on paper, and he uses Adobe Photoshop to facilitate, add colour and composite. He produces limited edition giclée prints of selected work, using archival inks and papers for exceptional quality and lightfastness.

Joe's work has appeared in numerous exhibitions, including the House of Illustration's What Are You Like at Dulwich Picture Gallery in 2008, which toured over ten different museums and galleries around the UK, including Dulwich Picture Gallery and Chris Beetles Gallery in London.

His Berger & Wyse cartoons have been the subject of two shows at Nigel Walker's Creation Gallery in Beverley, and an exhibition at The Guardian King's Place in London in 2011. The Berger & Wyse food cartoons were also included in the prestigious Caricatura exhibition in 2012, which ran alongside Documenta (13) in Kassel, Germany.
