Her work is saturated with a love of colour and gesture celebrating her romantic sensibility. Inspirations include the japanese printmaking master Hokusai, renaissance artists Giotto and Bellini, and of course Gauguin and Matisse.

NIKKI WARD

Nikki's joyful and nostalgic paper-cut sculptures are created from found and bought vintage books and objects. Butterflies burst from a matchbox in a cloud of colour - a celebration of nature, movement and junk shops! Forgotten and discarded items are given a new story and a new lease of life - an exercise in transformation and preservation.

Each unique work is carefully hand-built with scalpel, glue and tweezers - housed in a traditional taxidermy box, glazed with anti-reflective glass and sealed with authentic passe-partout tape.
